Hi! I would like to share with you information about a medical simulator which I tested last week during a presentation of the company-producer. The product is called Simprove and it is used for training with a tutorial mode and a test mode where users are briefed about a patient that just entered the ER to whome they have to provide with proper treatment. An important and innovative solution I came across recently is a wearable called BioBeat. At the core of the systems is a range of continuous, wireless, non-invasive, accurate medical-grade monitoring devices that measure and record vital signs and other physiologically relevant parameters. The solutions include not only an end-user smartphone app (within Android and iOS) enabling the patient to see his own data and share it with his relatives, but also multi-user platforms for parallel monitoring of a number of patients (for example a hospital ward) and a PC based system for parallel monitoring of a large number of users. There are currently two configurations available: a wristwatch and a patch. The wristwatch is intended for patients with chronic medical conditions, in which long-term monitoring is needed. A fully charged watch will operate continuously for about 3 days before the need to recharge it. Recharging lasts up to 3 hours. The patch is intended for short-term care, such as pre-hospital use, post-hospital acute care, as well as certain in-hospital patients. The patch is a single use device working continuously for up to 7 days. This allows for short-term monitoring without the need to disinfect and pass it between patients, reducing the chances of transmitting infections. These monitoring systems provide accurate, non-invasive, wireless and continuous monitoring of numerous vital signs and physiological parameters, transmitted through cloud-based system in real-time.
