From my experience, I don’t think there will be much resistance from the practioners/first responders as long as they recognise the added value / benefits for their patients and ultimately reducing their workload. I am not sure if it is has been already deemed as an improvement, but combining wireless and GPS localisation with infrared sensors seems to me to be a better option, since you are right about the possible malfunctioning of electronic devices.

You are absolutely right, John. Here in Madrid we face the same problem when we try to connect the EHR systems of public hospitals, private hospitals and primary care centers.
